Take Offshore Drilling Off The Table

As Creature quoted Rachel Maddow below,
"It doesn't make sense to have a debate about whether offshore drilling is going to bring down gas prices. You know what? It's not. The fact that it's false ought to be reported, or you're advancing a lie."
Well, the mainstream media has been advancing this particular lie lately, and that's why the public suddenly supports the preposterous notion. Even though basic math and common sense (and even George W. Bush, John McCain, and other supporters of offshore drilling) all tell us that offshore drilling is not a solution to our energy problems, not even in the short-term band-aid fix kinda way, our legislators need to be told this. Loudly. You see, there is this entity that we politely refer to as Big Oil (you know, the nice fellas who have pocketed some $500 million in profits in the last five years with record quarter after record quarter while we pay through the nose at the pump), and those nice fellas are lobbying really loudly in our representatives other ear. The ear that they keep in their pocket. The ear that looks like a wallet. That's the only reason this topic is still in the air. Our representatives need to hear from us that there are potential long-term solutions to the energy crisis and the sooner we invest in them the sooner our energy future will become secure.

Please help The Wilderness Society send just that message to your legislators.

Thank you.
