A veto overridden

Today President Bush suffered his first veto override after seven years in office (and after one year of actually vetoing anything). Worth a cheer? Most definitely. But what pressing issue brought the Congress together? Was it stem cell research that finally rallied a cowed Congress? Nah. Troop withdrawals, they finally came together to end the war? Nah. The kids, they finally decided to care for the kids? Forget about it. What then? What finally caused the GOPers to turn against their president? Water. A fucking water bill.* Kevin Costner would be proud.

*yes, I'm sure the projects in the bill were needed, but still.
