It's Afghanistan, Stupid!

We The People (and the blogosphere in particular) must unite and scream at the top of our lungs, "It's Afghanistan, stupid!" until the American mainstream media stop focusing on the diversion that is Iraq/The Surge.

The focus needs to be on the Afghanistan/Pakistan border -- therein lies the biggest threat to US national security. Read this Guardian (UK) article which leads with:

Britain's most senior generals have issued a blunt warning to Downing Street that the military campaign in Afghanistan is facing a catastrophic failure, a development that could lead to an Islamist government seizing power in neighbouring Pakistan.
