BushCo in a nutshell

As September looms, and progress in Iraq is verifiably nonexistent, the Washington Post reports today that the Bush administration is now looking for "alternative evidence of progress to persuade Congress to continue supporting the war."

Just as they looked for "alternative evidence" to take the country to war with in the first place. If at first you don't succeed, lie, lie again.

And, if more nutshellian evidence were needed, the WaPo article linked to above also contains this gem:
"There are things going on that we never could have foreseen," said one official, who noted that the original benchmarks set by Bush six months ago -- and endorsed by the Maliki government -- are not only unachievable in the short term but also irrelevant to changing the conditions in Iraq.
Just as they could not "foresee" people flying planes into buildings, levees breaking, and the dearth of liberating candy and flowers.

How long must we let this lying, incompetent crew run this country?
