Happy Surge Day
Unless you've been living in a cave [and I suspect a good number of American people are actually living in caves], you are sure to know by now that tonight is a big night for the president. His "new way backward" has pretty much been leaked to death, so there should be no real surprises as far as the details go (though I do think Karl Rove is holding some Democratic-damning detail back to help with the presentation). The real story of the president's speech will be the aftermath. The story will be the spin and the people's reaction to it. And, thankfully, if the polls, and our recent change-the-course elections, are any indication, the people have already tuned out the president.
So, for those of you looking for some counter-programming that plays to your intelligence, while the president talks down to the nation, allow me to make a suggestion:

Note: If The Sopranos are not your thing, TBS has a Full House repeat. It's not quite highbrow, but still higher than the president's "new way forward" plan.
Update: The Xsociate takes the above kernel and photoshops-it to a whole 'nother level.
