The Last Gasp of a Dying Campaign
Where do I even begin? I guess Joe still had one last shrill in him. This was the "big news" earlier in the day:
Definite pins and needles on this one. Pins and needles.
[Lieberman's] aides fulminated over the collapse of their campaign Web site, which they blamed on unnamed “political opponents.”Voter suppression, investigative authorities, complaints so formal. That's serious stuff. They wouldn't say these things unless they were sure or at least had some proof:
Mr. Lieberman’s campaign manager, Sean Smith, said the online blackout was tantamount to voter suppression, because the Web site was a tool to communicate with some Democrats. He said the campaign would file a formal complaint asking state and federal legal authorities to investigate.
I just got off the phone with top Joe Lieberman adviser Dan Gerstein, and he acknowledged to me that the Lieberman camp doesn't have any direct evidence that the Lamont campaign -- or Lamont supporters -- are behind the alleged hack attack on the Lieberman campaign web site. Now, let's turn to Kos for the "definitive answer":
They are paying $15/month for hosting at a place called MyHostCamp, with a bandwidth limit of 10GB. MyHostCamp is currently down, along with all their clients. This election is not ugly because of Lamont or any looney liberal blogger. It's ugly because Lieberman has cried all the way to the finish line. C'mon, Connecticut, there is no way you want this man as your representative.
Here's the deal -- you get what you pay for. My hosting bill is now over $7K per month. A smaller site doesn't need that much bandwidth, but if you're paying $15 because your $12 million campaign is too freakin' cheap to pay for quality hosting, then don't go blaming your opponent when your shitty service goes out.
Definite pins and needles on this one. Pins and needles.
