High stakes laughter

The Washington Post is funny.

What long-term foreign policy goals? What war on terror? More terrorists are being created than could ever be destroyed militarily. And, by all accounts, this is exactly the foreign policy that the Bushes seek. If anything these guys are disappointed that Iran and/or Syria haven't yet taken the bait and gotten directly involved.

At least I'm not the only one who finds humor in legitimizing Bush foriegn policy.
Haass, the former Bush aide who leads the Council on Foreign Relations, laughed at the president's public optimism. "An opportunity?" Haass said with an incredulous tone. "Lord, spare me. I don't laugh a lot. That's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. If this is an opportunity, what's Iraq? A once-in-a-lifetime chance?"
George, George, George even your own people are laughing at you now. I'd laugh too, if only the stakes weren't so high,
