Why does the Secret Service hate America?

The Secret Service has agreed to turn over White House visitor logs that will show how often convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff met with Bush administration officials — and with whom he met.

U.S. District Judge John Garrett Penn last Tuesday approved an agreement between the Secret Service and Judicial Watch, a public interest group, that requires the agency to produce records of Abramoff's visits from Jan. 1, 2001, to the present.

Chris Farrell, Judicial Watch's director of investigations, said, "The documents will speak loud and clear on what Abramoff was doing in and out of the White House."

One has to assume that there is nothing too damaging in the visitor logs or else the Secret Service would not have agreed to this deal. I can't imagine the White House being magnanimous in this instance. It's either that, or they are confident with their staff-level-meetings only spin. However, the media splash to be made when the visits are released is sure to be a large one. Tony Snow is certainly going to have his hands full spinning the White House clean of the Abramoff taint. I, for one, looking forward to the spectacle.
