Roach-master Tom DeLay is done. I guess he'll have plenty of time to play the greens now. Well, at least until his prison sentence starts. From the Associated Press:
Succumbing to scandal, former Majority Leader Tom DeLay intends to resign from Congress within weeks, closing out a career that blended unflinching conservatism with a bare-knuckled political style. [And a general disregard for all things legal.]
And why is DeLay stepping down now? Well, the camel's back meets straw scenario played out this past weekend:
More recently, former DeLay aide Tony Rudy said he had conspired with Abramoff and others to corrupt public officials, and he promised to help the broad federal investigation of bribery and lobbying fraud that already has resulted in three convictions. [Read More]
Overall I have to say, it's the DeLay hair that I'll miss the most. Sigh...
