Less Trickle, More Down
Not that we all didn't know this already, but still, this depresses me. Read on from the NYT:
I do recommend reading the entire NYT piece, it's not as wonkey as you would think. Plus, the NYT deserve kudos for doing the math and for holding accountable those who falsely claim that the little guy is benefiting from the tax cuts too. Ten bucks does not a benefit make. Lying asses, all of them.
An analysis of Internal Revenue Service data by The New York Times found that the benefit of the lower taxes on investments was far more concentrated on the very wealthiest Americans than the benefits of Mr. Bush's two previous tax cuts: on wages and other noninvestment income. So anyone who wants to complain that the Bush presidency has been a failure, or that he is the worst president ever, please remember that to the richest of the rich, all is well and their man Bush has done the job asked of him. In BushWorld he gets a medal.
