Bush Takes a Leak


The Bush lack of defense to Libby's assertion that he authorized the leaking of classified information begins to take shape.

The White House on Friday declined to challenge assertions that President Bush authorized the leaks of intelligence information to counter administration critics on Iraq. [Read More]

A senior administration official, speaking on background because White House policy prohibits comment on an active investigation, said Bush sees a distinction between leaks and what he is alleged to have done. The official said Bush authorized the release of the classified information to assure the public of his rationale for war as it was coming under increasing scrutiny. [Read More]
Basically we've seen this one before, and it's been pretty effective. Wind, say goodbye to sail. It's the "business as usual," "we're above the law," "we've done nothing wrong," "nothing to see here... move along" defense. Oh, and by the way, you are all crazy for making such a big deal about this.

Shorter Bush: Sure I leaked, now fuck off, I've got presidenting to do.
