Bipartisan, my ass

This morning Bush will announce (or if you're a late raiser, has already announced) former House member Rob Portman as White House budget director. That's all well and good since I have no idea who Portman is. So long as he knows how to spend, spend, spend, he is a perfect fit for this White House. However, this is funny:
A senior administration official said Portman was picked because of his experience and expertise and ability to work in a bipartisan way.

"He is someone with a record of working across the aisle to get things done and is well-respected by members," the official said.
A Bush staffer acting bipartisan. I almost spilled my coffee. I think what the White House official meant to say was that Portman will be "working across the aisle" with Joe Lieberman only.

More on the absolutely meaningless White House shake-up to follow. Welcome to Tuesday.
