Polls, Polls, and More Polls

So many polls. So little time.

FOX News and Bush love:
For only the second time of his presidency, the poll finds that President Bush's overall job approval rating has fallen below 40 percent -- today 39 percent of Americans say they approve and a 54 percent majority disapproves. Late last year the president's approval hit a record-low of 36 percent (8-9 November 2005).
The Right did their best to discredit the CBS 34% poll from earlier in the week, let's see them try to dismiss this one.

FOX News and the selling of our national security ports:
On the port issue, the new poll finds that 69 percent of Americans oppose allowing the Arab-owned company called Dubai Ports World to manage commercial operations at some U.S. ports -- four times as many as support the deal (17 percent).
How will Bush, and the GOPers who still kiss his ass, reconcile those numbers?

FOX News and new found Democratic love:
Furthermore, by a 14-percentage point margin voters think it would be better for the country if Democrats win control of Congress in this year's election, up from an 8-point edge in early February and 11 points in January.
FOX News may propagandize the news, but the numbers don't lie.

Gallup and the let's-get-the-fuck-out-of-Iraq poll:
While newspaper editorials remain virtually silent on the subject, the American public seems to have made up its mind. A new Gallup/CNN/USA Today poll out tonight shows that 2 out of 3 adult Americans now want U.S. troops to start to come home from Iraq. And 55% call the decision to attack Iraq in 2003 a "mistake."
John Murtha anyone?

Gallup and Bush love:
The same poll found President Bush's approval rating plunging to 38%. It was even lower in a CBS poll earlier this week: 34%.
LA Times/Bloomberg the people and the ports:
Americans, by a greater than 3-1 margin, oppose the proposed deal that would allow a state-owned Arab firm to assume control of operations at several U.S. ports, a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll has found.
LA Times/Bloomberg and the best number so far:
Perhaps most strikingly, 44% said they approved of Bush's handling of terrorism, whereas 54% disapproved -- the first time a majority has expressed a negative opinion of his handling of that issue in a Times survey.
Uh, Karl, whatcha gonna do about that number? Blow something up?

And finally let me leave you with the best quote I've read so far today.
But Beverly Greenwald, a Democrat in Atlanta, expressed the intensity registered by many Bush critics in the survey. "He's an incompetent, ignorant man who looks for simple answers to complex issues," the psychotherapist said. "He shouldn't even be allowed to run a small Texas town."
Amen sister. Thank you for playing polls and have a nice day.
