Let the S. S. Begin

By "S. S." I mean Stockholm Syndrome, the condition where a captive allegedly becomes sympathetic with his/her captors. Jill Carroll has been free all of about 24 hours and several blogs on the corrupt Republican side of the aisle have already gotten all let's examine your feelings touchy-feely over her comments that she was "treated well" (i.e., not killed).

Now ABC News has allegedly uncovered a video on an "insurgent website" (sorry, they don't link to it - journalism at its finest) and released a "partial translation" of Ms. Carroll talking about her 3 months with the Revenge Brigade and her "imminent release." Of course ABC can't verify any of the events surrounding the tape including who interviewed Ms. Carroll, who made the tape, the location, the time, the duress level of Ms. Carroll, nothing.

Nothing except a "partial translation" that includes Ms. Carroll saying things like:
"This is only a jihad to stop an illegal and dangerous and deadly occupation..."

"I want them to understand that the situation in Iraq in general, how difficult it is here, people don't have electricity, people don't have water, children don't have safe streets to walk in, women and children are always in danger&People are killed left and right on the streets without any reason. People die everyday from the bombings and shootings of the army and all these things."

"He [King George] knows this war is wrong. He knows that it was illegal from the very beginning. He knows that it was built on a mountain of lies and I think he needs to finally admit that to the American people and make the troops go home and he doesn't care about his own people."
Well, what did you expect? She's a member of the press, and as everybody who has listened to the Imperial Palace Talking Points Decree recently knows, the press is responsible for all the problems we're having over there. It's not like we made the same mistakes in Iraq that we made in Viet Nam. We are winning, just ask Bob Woodward, but not Bob Woodruff.

Next up in the S.S.? Supermodel Naomi Campbell was treated "great" by the "really nice" NYPD while being booked for a second time for assault of her assistant with a phone. She just ruined her chances at becoming a reporter, huh?

Speaking of phone assaults, all you ladies who have decisions to make need to call Bill Napoli. He knows whether or not your butt looks big in those jeans.

Ok, let's fire up those right wing blogs. Remember boys, copying each other's work without attribution is fine. If you get caught, just claim you were a teenager when you wrote it.
