Bush Knew

By now we all know these infamous words from the President's 2003 State of the Union address:
"The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa. Our intelligence sources tell us that he has attempted to purchase high-strength aluminum tubes suitable for nuclear weapons production."
But what we did not know, when those words were spoken, was the extent of Mr. Bush's knowledge that the words he was speaking were false. Now we do. And we also now know the details of the cover-up behind the story. It's ugly, but not surprising. Please go to the National Journal. Read the entire piece by Murray Waas. Then pass it along to as many people as you can find. This is the story of the day and it's real important.

Go now, read more, this is not extra credit, and yes, it will be on the final exam.
