Act To Make Congress Investigate Illegal Domestic Spying

The system of checks and balances built into our government was not intended to have one branch rubber stamp the misdeeds of another, it was meant to give each the means to keep the others in check. And balance. Duh.

Earlier this week the Senate Intelligence Committee abdicated its responsibility to investigate executive branch wrongdoing in the illegal domestic spying scandal. It is up to We The People to demand action. We must create a huge stink or congress is going to write retroactive laws covering the president's law-breaking, freedom-encroaching ass.

Worse than not holding the Criminal In Chief accountable, these laws will make it legal for the US government to spy on Americans at will. With no oversight. That's not the personal liberty and freedom that democracy is supposed to ensure, that's invasive authoritarian overreach the like of which has never before been seen in this country. Well, not since Nixon, but no previous administration had the high tech tools and massive data sources these Fascists are exploiting at our expense, making this overreach far more extensive and the consequences far more dire.
