Port Smoke Screen

On Fox News Sunday the president's domestic security adviser, Frances Fragos Townsend, continued to intentionally confuse the issue at the heart of the port controversy.
"I think we have to be honest that it's awfully concerning," Ms. Townsend said, "and to the extent that we're treating one company different than we would treat the British company, I think we have to be very honest and ask ourselves, Why is that?" [Emphasis Added]
Leaving the race card aside* can you catch the smoke screen Townsend throws up to cloud the real issue behind the port deal? That's right, she equates a STATE run company with a PRIVATELY owned British company. This, not race, is the reason the handing over control of our ports is a bad idea. A state will be in charge. A state which can be overthrown. A state which recognized the Taliban government. A state with shifting alliances. A state that is not driven by profit, but by politics. To confuse the issue at this point can only be intentional. It's the Saddam-was-responsible-for-9/11 tactic all over again.
