Cowards

So the Senate caved to the White House with respect to an investigation into the president's illegal wiretapping program, but at least we still have a House investigation to look forward to. From today's NYT:
Representative Heather A. Wilson, the New Mexico Republican and committee member who called last week for the investigation, said the review "will have multiple avenues, because we want to completely understand the program and move forward."
Let's get the accountability party started! Oh, what's that you say? There will be no real investigation, fuckin' cowards. Read on:
But an aide to Representative Peter Hoekstra, the Michigan Republican who leads the committee, said the inquiry would be much more limited in scope, focusing on whether federal surveillance laws needed to be changed and not on the eavesdropping program itself.
Maybe one day we'll have a Congress that doesn't have their lips so tightly pressed up against George Bush's ass that they may actually be able to perform their oversight duties as the EQUAL branch of government that they are.

November is so far away. Sigh.
